About THE 1
THE 1 is an all-in-one student workspace built to replace the pile of half-used apps most students juggle during a term.
Why we built it
A typical student keeps their timetable in one app, their notes in another, their homework in a third, and their revision in a notebook that goes missing in week five. Each tool is fine on its own, but the switching cost is real: context is lost, deadlines drift out of view, and notes taken in class never make it into revision.
THE 1 exists to remove that friction. Classes, notes, homework, revision and practice questions live in one calm interface, so the work you do in one place automatically supports the work you do in another.
Who it is for
High school, sixth form, college and university students — particularly anyone managing several subjects at once, balancing study with work, or trying to rebuild study habits after falling behind. It is deliberately simple enough to be useful in the first five minutes.
How it works
THE 1 runs in your browser and works without an account. Your workspace is saved locally on your device, so you can start using it immediately without signing up or handing over personal details. Optional AI features can generate practice questions from your own notes and answer study questions using your workspace as context.
Our approach
We favour fewer, better features over a long list of options. Everything in the product is designed around habits that have good evidence behind them — retrieval practice, spaced review, and realistic weekly planning — rather than around streaks and gamification. The study guides we publish follow the same principle.
